A child’s devotion
The prayer of a mother, a father and their children
Şakirin Mosque was built by the children of İbrahim and Semiha Şakir in their memory, at the gate of Karacaahmet Cemetery. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that when a person dies their deeds come to an end — except for ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them. This mosque is where those three doors meet on a single threshold.
